Job Summary:
The Industrial Engineer is a developing professional who applies industrial engineering principles to improve efficiency, quality, and safety in the manufacturing process. This role is responsible for analyzing production data, identifying improvement opportunities, and managing small continuous improvement projects. Working with general supervision, the Industrial Engineer helps drive operational excellence on the factory floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzes production workflows, space requirements, and equipment layout to design more efficient manufacturing processes.
- Applies statistical methods and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
- Manages small to medium-sized Lean or Six Sigma projects to reduce waste, improve quality, or increase productivity.
- Collaborates with production, quality, and maintenance teams to implement and sustain process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree.
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen) and statistical analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency with data analysis software.
