Role Summary

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for automating, operating, and supporting infrastructure and application environments. This role focuses on configuration management, scripting, database support, and operational reliability, with a strong emphasis on backup, recovery, and continuous improvement across environments.

Core Skillset

Automation & Configuration

Ansible for configuration management, deployment, and orchestration

Scripting & Development

Python for automation, tooling, and operational scripts

Database

Strong ability to write and optimize SQL queries for reporting, troubleshooting, and operational support

Operational Responsibilities

Infrastructure and application operations support across environments
Backup and recovery management:

Understanding of backup strategies, retention policies, and restore procedures
Hands-on experience with Commvault or Veritas NetBackup is a strong advantage

Monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
Support operational readiness, system reliability, and performance tuning
Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure operational stability
Experience with Aptare Backup Reporting and Analytics to monitor backup performance, capacity utilization, SLA compliance, and trend analysis.
Ability to develop, customize, and maintain Aptare reports and dashboards using SQL to support operational, audit, and management reporting.

Good to Have / Nice to Have

Power BI

Creating dashboards and reports for operational metrics, capacity, and performance insights

Experience working in hybrid or cloud environments (Azure/AWS preferred)
