Job DescriptionThe position is based in Saint-Mandé within Ubisoft’s IT department, specifically in the “Infrastructure & Platform” team (~180 people worldwide), which provides IT hosting and connectivity services for all Ubisoft games and services. As a Senior Storage Administrator, you will work within an international team of 7 people on Ubisoft’s block and object storage solutions.
Your time will be split between development and operational tasks. You will also collaborate with other areas such as networking and cloud.
In this role, your main responsibilities will include:
- Designing and administering storage infrastructure components with a focus on resilience, security, and performance.
- Working closely with platform, development, and operations teams to transform application needs into operational solutions.
- Deploying and enforcing security and compliance standards across all infrastructure layers.
- Monitoring resource usage, adjusting capacity, and optimising operational costs.
- Providing technical support for infrastructure services (Level 2/3 support).
- Participating in on-call rotations and handling major incidents.
- Writing and maintaining technical documentation, runbooks, and recovery procedures.
The technical environment includes: OpenStack Swift, Ceph, Dell PowerFlex, CentOS, Ubuntu, Docker, GitLab, Ansible/AWX, Rancher, Prometheus, Loki, Grafana, StackStorm, Jira.
QualificationsRelevant experience, skills and knowledge:
- Expertise in object storage (OpenStack Swift) and knowledge of Ceph.
- Strong system administration skills (Linux) and good networking knowledge.
- Solid scripting/development skills (Python / Shell / Ansible / GitLab).
- Fluency in English is essential for this position.
Optional skills:
- Knowledge of public cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Familiarity with Dell PowerFlex environments.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies is a plus
