About the opportunity
This exciting opportunity as a (Senior) Statistician offers the chance to join a dynamic, welcoming, and highly talented team that plays a key role in developing innovative products that make improvements in life possible.
The QIAGEN Statistics and Data Science team provides expert study design, statistical analysis, and data-driven insights to support the development of a diverse portfolio of diagnostic solutions addressing both existing and emerging medical needs. Working closely with Product Development and cross-functional teams in our state-of-the-art Manchester facility, you will contribute to a wide range of analytical and clinical studies that support product development and regulatory objectives.
As part of a globally connected function, you will also collaborate with colleagues across Germany, Spain, and the USA, applying your statistical expertise to help deliver high-quality diagnostic products that make a meaningful difference to healthcare worldwide.
Your tasks
Design analytical, clinical, and performance studies to demonstrate the safety, effectiveness, and performance of diagnostic products
Collaborate with cross-functional project teams and provide statistical expertise throughout product development and validation activities
Develop statistical analysis plans and ensure the appropriate application of statistical methodologies
Program and review statistical analyses, including the generation of tables, figures, and listings using SAS or other relevant software tools
Interpret and present study results to project stakeholders and contribute to technical and regulatory documentation
Depending on seniority, drive or support the continuous improvement of statistical processes, study design approaches, and reporting standards
Mentor and support team members, depending on experience and seniority level
Your profile
Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline; equivalent professional experience will also be considered
Experience applying statistical methods within scientific, biomedical, clinical research, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, biotech, or related regulated environments
Proficiency in SAS or other statistical programming software (e.g., R) used for data analysis and reporting
Experience performing sample size calculations and providing study design recommendations using tools such as nQuery or comparable software
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate statistical concepts for diverse audiences
Proven ability to collaborate effectively across functions, cultures, and geographical locations
Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning and innovation
