Vocera now a part of Stryker,,of is looking for 9 to 12 years experienced Senior Staff Embedded Test Engineer to develop and maintain test software for embedded systems. The ideal candidate has strong Python and Pytest skills and experience implementing Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices. Strong knowledge on CAN, CANOpen and MQTT protocols. You will design, build, and run automated test frameworks, create robust test cases for firmware and hardware integration, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute test plans for embedded software and systems.
Develop and maintain automated tests and frameworks using Python and Pytest
Perform functional, integration, and system-level testing
Validate embedded applications in Linux-based environments
Work with communication protocols such as CAN, CAN Open and MQTT for testing
Analyse test results and identify defects, root causes, and improvement areas
Collaborate with development teams for issue resolution and validation
Maintain test documentation including test cases, reports, and logs
Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes and automation frameworks
Support regression testing and release validation activities
Ensure compliance with defined testing standards and procedures
Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines and report test metrics
Debug failures, triage issues with firmware/hardware teams, and verify fixes
Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in test automation
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Electronics and Communication, Embedded system, Electrical /Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
9+ years of total professional software Test engineering experience.
Proven experience in testing embedded systems and owning complete test cycle.
Strong knowledge on Python, CAN, CANOpen, MQTT systems
Experience with Eclipse IDE/VS Code for Test development in Linux.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse and debug complex issues.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Medical Domain is an added advantage
Proven track record of testing and maintaining complex Test framework on embedded systems.
