Job Description
What you get to do in this role:

• Architect, build and design, high-quality, clean, scalable and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
• Lead automation tools and framework development that leverages AI and large language model (LLM) capabilities to accelerate development with high-quality results
• Partner with the product owners to understand detailed requirements and own your code from design, implementation, test automation and delivery of high-quality product to our users.
• Identify gaps in existing developer workflow and address them by building solutions using ServiceNow platform, plugins, frameworks and automation tools for a variety of projects
• Implement software that is simple to use to allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific needs
• Be an advocate for automating everything within engineering organization
• Mentor colleagues and help promote knowledge-sharing

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we need someone who has:

• Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, testing, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry
• 10+ years hands-on coding and scripting experience using OO languages such as Java.
• 5+ years of experience in designing and building large scale enterprise software.
• Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization
• Expert in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
• Exceptional debugging, testing, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with any of the modern UI frameworks like Angular, React and UI testing framework
• Ability to use tools to assist with daily tasks (IDE, debugger, build tools, source control, profilers, Unix tools, shell scripting)
• Solid knowledge of working with Jenkins/Gradle/Maven or similar
