The Company

Talent Authority Partners is partnering with a confidential, high-growth AI company building agentic software for financial services.

The company helps regulated banks, fintechs, and compliance teams automate mission-critical workflows across areas such as KYC, AML, sanctions compliance, and financial crime review. Their platform is already trusted by leading financial institutions and fast-growing fintech companies to reduce manual work, improve operational accuracy, and support highly sensitive compliance functions at scale.

This is a rare opportunity to join a well-funded, early-stage AI company building real production systems for complex, highly regulated environments. The team is working in one of the most active areas of AI: applied agents, automation, and enterprise workflow transformation.

Additional company details will be shared with qualified candidates during the recruiting process.

Your Team

You will join a small, high-trust engineering team where engineers own meaningful product work and ship production impact every week.

The team is lean, fast-moving, and highly collaborative. Engineers work closely with customers, product, design, and the founding team to deeply understand user needs and turn complex operational problems into practical, reliable product experiences.

This is not a heavily layered or overly structured environment. The company values judgment, independence, ownership, and scrappiness. The best candidates will have experience operating in early-stage or growth-stage startup environments and will be comfortable making strong technical and product decisions without waiting for perfect clarity.

The culture is fast-paced but sane. The team moves quickly, works with urgency, and cares deeply about quality without relying on grind culture or constant weekend work.

Your Role

As a Senior or Staff Product Engineer, you will build customer-facing AI-powered products that automate complex compliance workflows for banks and fintech companies.

This is a full-stack product engineering role for someone who can own features end-to-end, work directly with users, and build polished, reliable systems that solve real business problems. You will help design and ship workflows used by compliance teams processing high volumes of sensitive cases, where product quality, technical judgment, and user trust matter.

This role is best suited for a product-minded engineer with strong engineering fundamentals, startup experience, and a track record of building zero-to-one products. You should care about customer impact, not just code execution. You should be comfortable moving quickly, asking smart product questions, and translating ambiguous customer needs into scalable technical solutions.

Responsibilities

● Own substantial product features end-to-end, from customer discovery and requirements gathering through technical design, implementation, deployment, and iteration.

● Build customer-facing AI-powered workflows that help automate AML, KYC, sanctions, and other financial crime compliance processes.

● Develop intuitive interfaces for case management, reporting, analytics, workflow configuration, and human-in-the-loop review.

● Work directly with enterprise customers and compliance users to understand pain points, clarify workflows, and turn complex operational needs into elegant product experiences.

● Ship reliable, production-grade full-stack code across backend services, APIs, databases, and frontend applications.

● Build across a modern stack including React, Node, Python, TypeScript, and related technologies.

● Collaborate closely with product, design, founders, and other engineers in a high-ownership startup environment.

● Contribute to zero-to-one product development, including new workflows, new customer-facing features, and new AI-powered product capabilities.

● Debug production issues quickly and thoughtfully, balancing urgency, customer impact, and long-term product quality.

● Bring strong product judgment to engineering decisions by asking why a feature matters, how users will experience it, and how the product can be improved.

● Help improve product reliability, speed, usability, and scalability as the company continues to grow.

Minimum Requirements

● 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with preference for candidates operating at the Senior or Staff level.

● Strong full-stack product engineering experience, including meaningful backend and frontend ownership.

● Hands-on experience with React, Node, and Python, or highly transferable experience across a similar modern full-stack environment.

● Experience shipping production features end-to-end that have reached real users or customers.

● Prior startup experience, ideally at a Series B or Series C company, with an understanding of how fast-moving startup environments operate.

● Demonstrated experience building zero-to-one products or taking ambiguous product ideas from concept to production.

● Strong engineering fundamentals, including system design, APIs, data modeling, debugging, and production reliability.

● Customer-facing experience or direct exposure to users, customers, sales, implementation, support, or product discovery.

● Strong product judgment and the ability to translate messy business problems into practical technical solutions.

● Genuine interest in the company’s mission and the specific problems being solved in AI, fintech, compliance, and financial services.

● Ability to work hybrid in San Francisco, with four days per week in office and Wednesday remote.

● Authorization to work in the United States without requiring new H-1B sponsorship.

Nice to Have

● Experience building AI-powered or LLM-enabled product features.

● Experience with agentic workflows, workflow automation, human-in-the-loop systems, or applied AI products.

● Fintech, financial services, banking, compliance, risk, fraud, AML, KYC, or sanctions experience.

● Experience at a high-growth B2B SaaS, enterprise software, AI, fintech, or infrastructure company.

● Experience working directly with founders, product leaders, or enterprise customers.

● Prior experience as an early engineer, founding engineer, or high-ownership builder on a small team.

● Experience building customer-facing tools for complex operational workflows.

● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected base salary range for this role is $185,000 to $220,000, depending on level and experience.

The company also offers a competitive equity package and benefits, including comprehensive healthcare, 401(k) matching, commuter benefits, paid time off, holidays, unlimited sick time, flexible leave options, and support for late work needs such as meals and transportation.

Location & Work Arrangement

This role is based in San Francisco, CA.

The team works in a hybrid model with four days per week on-site and Wednesday remote.

Interview Process

The interview process typically includes:

  1. Recruiter screen
  2. Technical problem-solving / coding assessment
  3. On-site interview with the team

The team is moving quickly and is looking for candidates who are engaged, responsive, and genuinely motivated by the opportunity. Candidates who are passive, slow-moving, or broadly interested in “AI companies” without clear alignment to this specific mission are unlikely to be a fit.
