Job Description

Renesas is seeking a Senior Staff Product Assurance Engineer to lead quality improvement initiatives and develop strong relationships with Datacenter Customer Quality teams. In this role, you will help drive Renesas quality to a zero defect mindset. This position reports into the Performance Computing Power (PCP) business unit and will collaborate closely with Renesas Engineering, Customer Quality, Supplier Quality, and Operations teams.

This position will drive implementation of structured problem solving techniques to quickly contain and resolve issues while protecting our customers.

This role offers a unique and exciting opportunity to collaborate with a cross-functional, international team to develop high quality products and procedures to support data center, AI, and computing core power markets. Products supported include digital multiphase controllers, smart power stages, and 48v system power regulators.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define, track, and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives: Implement strategies to improve product quality, leveraging data-driven insights and cross-functional collaboration to exceed customer expectations
  • Analyze and report on PCP quality performance (DPPM): Provide actionable insights through regular reporting on customer returns, identifying trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with customer QA teams: Serve as a liaison to external customer quality assurance teams to ensure alignment and timely support.
  • Implement customer-specific quality requirements: Ensure customer-specific standards are incorporated into design, development, and production processes, promoting consistency and reliability.
  • Lead cross-functional teams (Tiger teams) to resolve critical quality issues: Coordinate and drive rapid, structured problem-solving efforts involving engineering, production, and supply chain teams to quickly resolve quality concerns.
  • Provide training on structured problem-solving methodologies: Develop targeted training programs to enhance organizational capability in root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Ensure standards compliance for automotive products: Oversee automotive products adoption of regulatory, industry, and customer requirements
  • Facilitate external ISO/IATF audits: Host and coordinate external quality audits, ensure full compliance with ISO/IATF standards, and address any non-conformances in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • 8 to 10+ years of experience in product or quality engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and people skills, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Solid understanding of new product development procedures, semiconductor supply chain and production environments.
  • Expertise with statistical analysis, structured problem solving methodologies, and making data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to manage supplier excursions and customer escalations.
  • Knowledge of commercial and automotive quality standards.

Additional Information

The expected annual pay range for this position is $141,000 - $176,000. This position is also eligible for STI bonus opportunities and commission pay. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience, and skillset of the candidate.
