At Coda, our goal is to make our mark in the high-volume payments and e-commerce industry – and we are levelling up fast. To stay in stride with the dynamic environment, we focus on building robust, distributed systems that can effortlessly handle traffic spikes. Moreover, our ambitious roadmap necessitates innovative tools to streamline the development lifecycle and sustain our swift momentum.
We place great value on balancing teamwork with individual autonomy, allowing our teams to make the most of modern cloud infrastructure. Our tech stack is solidly based on AWS cloud, with a keen interest in infrastructure-as-code and the creation of new microservices via the Quarkus framework. Our toolbox includes JSON and GRPC, multiple data storage integrations, queues, OpenTelemetry, and more.
But what truly defines us? It's our incredible team. We hire top talent and give them the freedom to push Coda's technology and products to exciting new levels. We believe that genius can strike anywhere, so we promote ownership and cultivate a servant leadership culture that lets engineers take the reins on features.
What you'll do
Design robust developer tools, manage scalable CI/CD pipelines, and drive systemic improvements to core DORA metrics across engineering teams.
Build reusable, versioned Terraform modules, migration playbooks, and golden paths that make infrastructure adoption seamless.
Design context and harness engineering systems—including model gateways, shared MCP servers, tool surfaces, prompt assets, cost budgets, and guardrails for safe execution.
Treat AI tooling with the same rigor as CI/CD by building evaluation harnesses to measure agent quality, adoption, and outcome metrics over novelty.
Implement security-by-design (least-privilege IAM, secrets hygiene, policy-as-code) and actionable observability (structured logging, tracing, SLOs-as-code).
Maintain team-owned tooling, resolve CI/CD production issues, lead cross-team initiatives through design docs and workshops, and join a balanced on-call rotation.
What you'll bring
Proven platform engineering scope, mastery of one language (Go, TypeScript, Python, or Java/Kotlin), and proficiency in a second.
Strong grasp of architecture (SOLID, resilience patterns), XP practices (TDD/BDD, feature flags, safe refactoring), and data system evolution.
Deep experience building with LLMs and coding agents—specifically harness design, tool/MCP integration, agent workflows, and managing model limitations.
Experience designing evaluation frameworks and defining quality signals for non-deterministic model outputs.
Expertise in CI/CD automation, policy-as-code, supply chain integrity, and observability fundamentals.
Bachelor's degree in CS/STEM (or equivalent practical experience) and strong written/verbal English communication skills.
Bonus If you have
Proven experience building internal developer platforms or driving org-wide AI tooling adoption.
Expertise in AWS cloud infrastructure, serverless architectures (AWS Lambda), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Track record of leading large-scale refactoring, modernization, or deprecation programs that measurably reduce technical risk.
