What if the work you did every day could impact the lives of people you know? Or all of humanity?

At Illumina, we are expanding access to genomic technology to realize health equity for billions of people around the world. Our efforts enable life-changing discoveries that are transforming human health through the early detection and diagnosis of diseases and new treatment options for patients.

Working at Illumina means being part of something bigger than yourself. Every person, in every role, has the opportunity to make a difference. Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.

Do you want to build products that improve human health by unlocking the power of the genome to treat cancer, diagnose rare diseases, and much more? If that inspires you, we’d love to talk.

Illumina is looking for a Senior Staff Interaction Designer to help drive the User Experience vision and strategy for next generation genomic solutions that will advance human health and create a world without fear of diseases. You will be responsible for driving the user experience across a wide array of projects, and must be passionate about understanding the underlying personas, use cases, goals, and pain points of our customers, and use these insights to deliver quality products and features.

You will report into the Director of User Experience Design, part of Illumina’s User Experience Design team.

The User Experience Design team is part of a larger Experience Design department, inclusive of User Experience Research, Industrial Design, Human Factors & Ergonomics, and User Experience teams. The department is part of Illumina’s Research and Development organization, which is the area responsible for all scientific research and product development across Illumina.

Our award-winning Experience Design department is mature and thriving. We’d love for you to be part of it. We’ve built a culture fueled by design-led innovation, collaboration, and openness, and established ourselves as the design leader in DNA sequencing technologies. We are deeply passionate about what we do because we know that our work has the power to improve lives.

Our work is guided by our user-centered design and co-innovation process that drives Illumina’s world class products and services to be as easy to use and delightful as they are powerful. Our mission is to humanize genomic applications through design and elevate the experience of every Illumina product user.

Join us to broaden your impact, grow your career, and apply your craft to a noble human endeavor: help build the next generation Illumina solutions that will enable scientists and clinicians around the globe to make life-changing advances.
