Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk. We’re looking for a Senior Staff Developer to be part of making this/that happen.   

Position Overview and Objective

The Senior Staff Developer will contribute to our Aurora Endpoint Security cloud platform, by leading initiatives to modernize & scale the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and deliver highly scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-native applications powering mission-critical business capabilities.
  • Own architecture decisions across applications and infrastructure.
  • Lead large-scale modernization initiatives, transforming monolithic systems into cloud-native, containerized, and service-oriented architectures.
  • Establish engineering standards, reference architectures, and best practices that improve quality, maintainability, and operational excellence.
  • Drive system reliability through observability solutions, including metrics, logging, tracing, capacity planning, SRE practices, and proactive monitoring.
  • Define and implement secure-by-design architectures, incorporating identity management, encryption, secrets management, threat modeling, compliance controls, and zero-trust principles.
  • Partner closely with product leaders, architects, engineering managers, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Lead critical production incident reviews, root-cause analysis, resiliency improvements, and operational readiness programs.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovations that improve scalability, productivity, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.

Experience & Requirements

  • 13+ years of software engineering experience, with significant experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in cloud environments.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging equally with engineers, architects, executives, and business leaders.
  • Significant hands-on experience designing and developing microservices using Java/Go/.Net, RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native platforms.
  • Expert-level knowledge of AWS services, including compute, networking, Caching, storage, messaging, container orchestration, observability, and security services.
  • Advanced knowledge of databases, particularly SQL Server, DynamoDB and PostgreSQL, including high-availability architectures, performance tuning, query optimization, partitioning, and replication strategies.
  • Proven experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, along with CI/CD automation, GitOps workflows, and platform engineering best practices.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems principles, including scalability, fault tolerance, consistency models, concurrency, caching, and asynchronous processing using Kafka.
  • Good frontend engineering experience using React.

Security Requirements
