Position Overview and Objective
About the team:
The IDR Engineering team works closely with security experts, product management and co-owns collection and response core platforms within Arctic Wolf to enable the real time data collection and analysis engine that drives some of the core offerings of the company. We work with detection systems and large-scale microservices platforms that push the boundaries of modern cyber defence.
We are seeking a Senior Staff Developer to provide deep technical leadership in designing and evolving next-generation systems that detect and mitigate emerging risks such as fraud, abuse, and anomalous behaviour at global scale.
This is a highly influential individual contributor role operating at the intersection of Third party Integrations ,backend platform architecture, cloud-native scalability, agentic AI systems and autonomous decision-making. You will define technical strategy, architect complex systems, and lead the design collection / parsing frameworks and scalable backend platforms that materially enhance Arctic Wolf’s proactive defence capabilities.
As a Senior Staff Developer, you’ll take a leadership role in designing and building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services that power our cybersecurity solutions. You'll mentor junior developers, drive architectural decisions, and work closely with front-end engineers, security teams, and DevOps to create robust and efficient systems.
Responsibilities
- Act as a technical authority and system architect for the Integrations and Active Response Platform, driving long-term architecture and design decisions.
- Lead the design and evolution of AI-driven backend data collection, parsing and response Platforms operating at scale.
- Architect and build advanced agentic AI frameworks using LangChain, LangGraph, or similar technologies for reasoning, orchestration, and autonomous execution.
- Design and guide implementation of highly scalable backend platforms and microservices using Python, Go, and cloud-native technologies.
- Establish and standardize architectural patterns for resilience, performance, observability, and security across distributed systems
- Design and influence event-driven, real-time pipelines using AWS services such as RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, EKS/Kubernetes, streaming, and messaging frameworks.
- Lead the evolution of collection and analysis platforms to support the next order of magnitude in scale
- Drive integration of LLMs and autonomous agents for data collection, correlation, analysis, enrichment and adaptive response.
- Set engineering standards for code quality, testing, documentation, and operational excellence across teams.
- Partner with product, threat intelligence, and platform leadership to align technical execution with business and security outcomes.
- Lead complex technical initiatives across multiple teams without direct authority, influencing through expertise and collaboration.
- Mentor senior and junior engineers, grow technical talent, and raise the overall engineering bar.
- Contribute to R&D initiatives, technical reviews, architecture forums, demos, and innovation programs.
Experience & Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering, backend/platform development, distributed systems.
- Proven track record as a Senior Staff engineer driving architecture and delivering complex, high-impact systems.
- Love coding
- Deep expertise in backend and distributed systems, including large-scale, real-time, or data-intensive platforms.
- Expert-level programming skills in Python (preferred) and/or Go.
- Extensive experience with cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and event-driven systems in hyperscale production environments.
- Strong grasp of LLM orchestration, prompt strategies, evaluation, and AI system reliability.
- Demonstrated ability to lead ambiguous, high-impact initiatives independently.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Expert level knowledge of services on cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Passion for mentoring, technical excellence, and building durable, future-proof platforms
