What You Will Be Doing
As a Sr. Staff Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and data-driven solutions across various business functions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems, deliver actionable insights, and contribute to the growth of our data science capabilities.
You will be expected to leverage your technical expertise in machine learning, advanced data analytics, and statistical modeling, while working autonomously and collaborating effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
- Data Exploration and Analysis: Perform complex data analysis on both structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights. Identify best techniques to apply tailored to the data characteristics.
- Model Development: Lead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models, from initial concept to production-ready solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders to define the scope of projects, deliver data-driven solutions, and improve decision-making processes.
- Data Pipeline: Work closely with the data engineering teams to design data pipelines and monitoring to support our model in a production environment.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present findings and insights to both technical and business audiences, translating complex technical details into clear, actionable recommendations
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in data science and machine learning, with a proven track record of developing, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python, including main DS and ML libraries and frameworks. Proficient in development skills and coding practices, especially git for version control.
- Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms, techniques, and methodologies, with experience applying them to real-world problems.
- Experience working with, and evaluating, different databases and data storages.
- Ability to work independently while also being an effective collaborator within a team.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Generative AI and LLMs
- Experience with statistical modelling and analysis.
- Experience in the EV (Electric Vehicle) or energy sector is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools for model versioning and deployment, such as mlflow, airflow, or similar.
- Experience working with mongodb and s3 is a plus.
- Strong development skills such as code testing, building and maintaining APIs.
