As a Senior Data Scientist, you will collaborate with engineering teams, clinical experts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-performing embedded computer vision algorithms for innovative veterinary diagnostic instruments.
This hybrid role can be performed from our offices in Westbrook, Maine (the HQ) or in Frisco, Texas. You must live within a commutable distance 1-3 days per week to either Westbrook, Maine or Frisco, Texas. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide relocation assistance or sponsorship for this role.

In this role:
- You will develop and deploy embedded computer vision algorithms for veterinary diagnostic platforms.
- You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams, clinical experts, and business stakeholders to define requirements and develop project plans.
- You will lead the design, development, and implementation of computer vision solutions, from data annotation and model training to evaluation, monitoring, and deployment.
- You will utilize strong software engineering skills to develop scalable, maintainable, and efficient code for computer vision applications, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- You will work with embedded systems and NVIDIA GPUs to optimize and deploy algorithms for real-time processing and inference.
- You will stay current with advancements in computer vision, machine learning, and related fields, and incorporate relevant technologies and methodologies into projects.
- You will provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their growth and development in computer vision and machine learning.
What you need to succeed:
- You have a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- You have proven experience delivering computer vision solutions, with expertise in Python programming and deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- You are proficient in AWS services for data processing, storage, and deployment.
- You have experience working across the entire development lifecycle, from requirements development to model deployment on embedded hardware.
- You have strong software engineering skills, experience delivering software in a production environment, and are familiar with software development best practices.
- Your familiarity with microscopy, digital cytology, or digital pathology will serve you a great advantage.
- Your experience using Databricks will be a plus.
- You have excellent communication skills and can work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
