Job Description

The ASIC Design Enablement and Automation Engineering organization is seeking a self-driven, hands-on engineer to lead enablement, automation, and infrastructure development for large-scale pre-silicon emulation and FPGA prototyping platforms used in product development. This role supports the Emerging Technology Solutions group by enabling pre-silicon development through reliable farm infrastructure, automation, and cross-functional platform leadership for emerging technologies solutions group.  The ideal candidate brings broad system-level knowledge, with depth in one or more areas such as emulation, FPGA prototyping, automation, firmware enablement, or platform debug.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support Product Firmware, Firmware Validation, Security FW, and ASIC validation/verification throughout development cycle
  • Develop scripts, tools, and automation to improve platform deployment, debug, monitoring and user workflows
  • Debug complex platform issues across hardware, firmware, software, infrastructure and user environments
  • Understand user workflows and platform use cases and then scale solutions across farm-based deployments
  • Document, explain & share creative solutions to difficult technical problems

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • 8+ years of experience in pre-silicon development, emulation, FPGA prototyping, ASIC validation, firmware development, or related platform engineering

Desired Skills:

  • Expertise with pre-silicon ASIC or FW development
  • Expertise with Cadence, Siemens and/or Synopsys emulation platforms or FPGA-based prototyping environments
  • Ability to debug complex system-level issues across hardware, software, and platform infrastructure
  • Familiarity with host interfaces such as PCIe, UFS, USB, and SD
  • Familiarity with peripheral interfaces such as UART, JTAG, I2C, HSSTP, and related protocols.
  • Experience working in Linux and Windows environments
  • Expertise in Tcl
  • Experience supporting pre-silicon development in cross-functional teams and optimizing hardware usage at scale
  • Understanding of firmware development process and how that intersects with ASIC development and FPGA design

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Sandisk's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Sandisk's Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
