POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Senior Staff Accountant supports the Accounting Department with a primary focus on month-end close, balance sheet reviews, and revenue accuracy. This role assists with group billing processes and is expected to step in during peak and high-volume periods as needed. The ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative, and willing to take on the most effective role to support the team, while also building and maintaining strong working relationships with team members across the hotel to support accurate reporting and smooth operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Support all aspects of the month-end close process
- Prepare and post journal entriesin Accounting System
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve variances
- Reviewprofit and loss statements to ensure financial accuracy and completeness
- Support the group billing process, providing hands-onassistanceas needed
- Serve as backup support during busy seasons, high-volume periods, and staff absences
- Learn and effectivelyutilizeboth the Property Management System (PMS) and the Sales/Catering system
- Prepare andfinalizegroup bills accurately and within required timelines
- Confirm that all revenue is posted correctly and that all applicable charges are fully captured
- Perform detailed reviews of group accounts to ensure completeness prior to billing
- Calculate attritionin accordance withcontract terms and agreements
- Develop andmaintainstrong working relationships with the Sales team to promote clear communication,accuratebilling, andtimelyresolution of billing inquiries
- Support guest inquiries on an as-needed basis,utilizingthe Property Management System (PMS) toassistwith resolution.
- Comply withattendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting for extended periods of time entering data into the computer system. Might regularly stand, walk, and talk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to grab, move, lift, or feel objects and use the telephone and copier machine.
