The Senior Accountant manages accurate and timely records of all agency financial data and financial reporting, including forecasts, projections and reporting required by funding sources or regulatory bodies. The role guards the financial resources of the company by managing, developing and monitoring financial and internal controls.

Essential Functions:


    1. Maintains agency financial records to assure financial integrity and the timely and accurate provision of information for management decision and control.
    2. Reviews adjusted journal entries, inter-company account reconciliation, month-end accruals, and the analysis and reconciliation of investment/banking activities.
    3. Prepares financial reports and summaries, including budget forecasts, cash flow reports, etc.
    4. Coordinates and participates in regular meetings with program directors to review budgets, financials and other reports.
    5. Ensures financial information adheres to generally accepted accounting principles.
    6. Develops internal controls over accounting systems and records maintenance.
    7. Monitors and reports on performance of all agency contracts, including waivers, and completes all reporting to regulatory bodies.
    8. Prepares for and actively participates in annual audit to ensure timely completion.
    9. Maintains a working knowledge of all operating systems of the Financial department and makes recommendations for operations improvement.
    10. Writes, updates and maintains policy and procedures for accounting practice.
    11. Assists in the completion of special studies of financial matters as the CFO,CEO or Board determine to be necessary.
Qualifications

Required:  Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, and 3 to 8 years’ related experience and/or training in the health care environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Previous supervisory experience required.
