Description

Regular responsibilities of the Senior Staff Accountant include completing monthly closing process for divisional and corporate entities. The Senior Staff Accountant will review and prepare journal entries, analyze and publish financial statements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial information monthly/quarterly/annually using approved company financial reporting tools
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering journal entries. Assist in month-end close processes and reconciliations
  • Prepare interim and year-end audit work papers
  • Analyze general ledger accounts and interpret data utilizing spreadsheets
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed assets schedules for internal GAAP books and tax for multiple legal entities
  • Provide ERP software support for locations nationwide
  • Occasional overnight travel is possible with this position
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts supporting various business segments
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

Requirements

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent years of related experience, required
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, required
  • Accounting experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment, strongly preferred
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Excel 
  • Willingness and ability to train operational partners in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, required
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Ax, a plus

  • Thorough knowledge of general accounting principles and best practices
  • Ability to analyze and resolve problems at both a strategic and functional level
  • Mathematic competence 
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and the ability to work independently
