Job Summary:
The Senior Staff Accountant position works with the Controller to develop and implement processes to collect data in a manner to allow for meaningful reporting and analysis.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the Controller in the accurate collection of financial transactions.

Assists the Controller with the month-end closing procedures.

Accepts responsibility for the maintenance of assigned accounts.

Responsible for accounting records for CCANY and its affiliates.

Proficient use of Sage Intacct, the financial accounting software.

Conducts and reports on internal audits, as assigned.

Complete special projects as assigned.

Ensure compliance with all pertinent government regulations, and CCANY’s policies, procedures, and operating standards.

Maintains confidentiality.

Performs other duties, as assigned.

Must possess a valid Driver’s License from New York, or a contiguous state (i.e., Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Vermont) OR Must have the ability to take ample public transportation to attend meetings in person in the community and in the office as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.

An Associates degree in Accounting with a minimum of five years of equivalent experience will be considered.

A minimum of three years of job-related experience is required.

Proficient in excel and other software products used for tracking the flow of information.

Proficiency in Sage Intacct ERP software a plus.

Absolute sense of integrity and personal commitment to serving people with I/DD and their families.

Exposure to payroll processing a plus.

Excellent interpersonal, communication organization and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Ability to work autonomously.

Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
