Summary
Responsible for advanced accounting tasks, including financial reporting, complex reconciliations, analysis, and supporting audits; serves as a key contributor to the accounting team, providing guidance to junior staff and ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies; works with minimal supervision and supports both operational and strategic financial initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Prepare and review complex journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Perform account reconciliations for balance sheet and P&L accounts, including intercompany and multi-entity accounts.
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports; analyze variances and trends.
- Support audits by providing schedules, documentation, and responding to inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
- Mentor and train Staff Accountant I and II on accounting procedures and best practices.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives, system upgrades, and ERP projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and recommend solutions.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years’ of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity or complex financial environments; strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and reporting standards; experience with consolidated reporting, multi-entity accounting, and intercompany reconciliations; familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling; experience supporting audits and internal controls.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; ERP/accounting software experience required, Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
Physical Demands
Primarily office-based; able to sit at computer for extended periods; ability to use standard office equipment (computers, printers, scanners); sit, stand, walk, talk; occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
