The Senior Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for managing all accounting activities related to one of Constellation Insurance Inc.'s (CII) issuing companies. This includes accounting for Separate Accounts associated with variable products, reviewing select reinsurance transactions of the issuing company, and supporting certain corporate accounting functions for CII.
Key responsibilities include preparing annual statutory filings for the Separate Accounts (Green Book), completing Schedule Y of the Statutory Annual Statement (Blue Book), and assisting with the preparation of footnotes for the statutory audited financial statements.
This role requires strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams in a fast-paced environment.

Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Review reinsurance transactions on a quarterly basis
- Analyze daily accounting data from the policy administration system
- Monitor monthly fund activity as reported by the Investment Department
- Prepare month-end journal entries related to Separate Account activity
- Prepare quarterly accrual entries and assist with budget reviews
- Reconcile monthly intercompany charges
- Develop and test reports and reconciliation tools to support Separate Account processes
General Ledger and Operational Support
- Provide accounting support for the Separate Accounts of issuing companies
- Prepare journal entries and maintain accuracy of the general ledger
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

What sets you up for success
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of accounting or finance operations experience, with a solid grasp of internal controls
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to collaborate and share insights effectively
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and high-volume activity with ease
- A problem-solving mindset, with sharp analytical and critical thinking abilities
- Hands-on experience with Oracle and Blackline financial systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access
