- Minimum: A Bachelor’s degree in a technical area, such as nutrition, food science/technology, biology, chemistry or biotechnology.
- Preferred: A Master’s degree in a technical area, such as nutrition, food science, chemistry or
food law. - Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in regulatory affairs with food products, with focus on Nordic countries and Europe. This includes excellent knowledge on European food legislation.
- Demonstrable experience working with trade associations and government agencies to clarify and resolve regulatory matters.
- Fluent English speaker in addition to local languages (Danish or Swedish, minimum) and preferably located in Copenhagen.
- Proactively monitors regulatory developments and activities in assigned markets; determines current and expected regulatory status of (new) food ingredients and additives; researches interpretations regarding the safety and acceptability of products and ingredients, and assures that SRA databases are up to date and contain the best current information; works internally (including with cross-segment Mars partners) and externally to address and influence proposed regulations to preserve Mar’s freedom to operate
- Supports the external regulatory influencing strategy related to assigned Nordics countries/EU in a proactive manner. Works with internal partners to understand priorities and impacts of developing legislation and aligns appropriate external positions. Works with external partners to shape developing policy and legislation in line with our aligned positions
- Participates in project teams, anticipates regulatory issues, and works with legal counsel, consultants, suppliers, and trade associations and other external partners to clarify and resolve these issues. Provides strategic Scientific and Regulatory Affairs advice; takes leadership to materialise opportunities to support our growth plans.
- Has responsibility for assuring ingredients, formulas, labelling, and packaging are in full compliance with laws and regulations as well as internal standards/policies in assigned Nordics markets (5) and has responsibility for assuring claims are in full compliance with laws and regulations as well as internal standards and policies in assigned Nordics markets
