The Senior Specialist, Procurement – DC Operations is responsible for managing procurement activities within data center operations, ensuring cost efficiency, compliance, and timely delivery of goods and services. This role supports strategic sourcing initiatives, vendor management, and process optimization to align with organizational goals and operational requirements.

What we are looking for

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Execute procurement strategies for data center operations, including review, negotiate, and redline commercial contracts to ensure alignment with business requirements and risk mitigation objectives.
  • Provide procurement support and coverage for other regions as required.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality, compliance, and performance standards.
  • Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead and facilitate day-to-day procurement operations for the assigned region, ensuring effective delivery of sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Operations, Engineering) to forecast demand and align procurement plans.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability goals.
  • Support risk management by monitoring supplier performance and mitigating supply chain disruptions.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and prepare reports for management review.
  • Responsible for the timely review, approval, and release of Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with company policies, procurement procedures, and delegated authority requirements.
  • Coach, mentor, and support the development of junior procurement team members.

KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and vendor negotiation.
  • Familiarity with data center operations and associated hardware/software procurement.
  • Proficiency in procurement tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and drive decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Preferred: Professional certifications such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CIPS.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 7-10  of years  procurement or supply chain experience, preferably in data center or technology infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Exposure to global procurement practices and compliance standards.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regularly moves equipment and other hardware up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently move about inside and outside of data center / facility
  • Remain stationary for long periods of time.
  • Ascend / Descend a ladder and perform duties atop a raised platform.
  • Position self in small spaces.
  • Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.
  • Perform work during US business hours and time zones.

Work conditions & other requirements

  • Work onsite at a data center location.(Hybrid)
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and loud noises.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Travel required 20% of time.
  • Perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
