We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Specialist, POM Product Owner to join our Tax Product Mgt team. This role is located in New York City, NY.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Contribute to the US Tax Services product strategy by supporting the development and enhancement of US Tax offerings across multiple Lines of Business (including Custody, Corporate Trust, etc.), leveraging candidate’s subject-matter expertise in US tax operations and US tax knowledge.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to communicate changes which may lead to product gaps and operational issues for US Tax Services.
  • Monitor, analyze, and assess US tax developments, legislation, and guidance issued by tax authorities, and evaluate impacts to existing and future product offerings.
  • Take ownership of creating business cases, identifying customer needs, while ensuring that the Bank’s (tax) risk appetite and control framework are met.
  • Manage US tax vendors and assist in setting the billing and pricing strategy.
  • Work closely with Product and Business Development partners to ensure business requirements are understood, delivery plans developed and tracked through all stages of the development lifecycle.
  • Lead ad-hoc time sensitive projects focused on delivery of solutions for Clients as per BNY requirements.
  • Assist in drafting client communications that clearly articulate BNY’s tax operational processes, aligned with applicable U.S. tax requirements.
  • Provide timely updates to business partners, including Risk and Compliance.
  • Operate effectively in a multi‑disciplinary, global team environment across multiple time zones.
  • Represent BNY, as appropriate, in US tax industry forums and working groups.

 

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • 5–7 years of experience in US tax operations, including hands‑on exposure to US withholding, reporting, and tax form validation processes within financial services environment.
  • Strong understanding of US tax operational processes, controls, and regulatory obligations; custody or asset‑servicing experience is preferred.
  • Execution capabilities, operational and/or product management.
  • Superior business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Experience of contributing to the tax product development lifecycle, from concept and client need through to execution and benefit realization.
  • Experience in working with business and technology architecture. Able to explain strategic concepts to audiences.
  • Comfortable with corporate governance and reporting.
  • Able to collaborate and communicate with all levels.

    Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Eligible employees also may receive other benefits (including various paid time off benefits, such as vacation and sick time), dependent on the position offered.
