Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Process and audit multi-state payroll for a large employee population on a bi-weekly or monthly basis
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare journal entries for accounting team
- Serve as subject matter expert for payroll system (ADP Workforce Now)
- Research and resolve complex payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries
- Support year-end processes including W-2 preparation and reconciliation
- Partner with HR and Finance on compensation changes, new hire onboarding, and terminations
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and implement solutions
- Assist with internal and external audits related to payroll
- Mentor junior payroll staff
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC.
- This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

- Education/Certifications: A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business or a related technical field.
- Years of Experience required in type of role: 8+ years of experience in a payroll related role, manufacturing or automotive environment, preferably in a Specialist or Senior Specialist role.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills as this position works closely with our internal employees and leadership teams.
- CPP certification preferred
- Experience with multi-state payroll and tax compliance
- Proficiency in payroll software and HRIS systems
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial Base Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00
Internal Leveling Code: IC8
