About the Role

Deliver consistent high-quality on-screen results and concierge level service experiences, to directors and filmmakers on specified (primarily) film and (when required) digital projects for the Original Content group, including Filmed Hollywood Features, Documentaries and other special initiatives, to ensure meeting IMAX Quality standards.

What You'll Do:

Projection Tech:

  • Physically run IMAX film and digital projector screenings which may include building film platters, threading the projector and ingesting digital content.

  • Assist with projection of 65mm Interpositive Protection elements.

  • Maintain maintenance logs, as requested, and perform daily operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of IMAX projection, immersive audio, and show control systems.  (this should be a service of Theater Services)

  • Assist with troubleshooting theatre concerns with prints and/or sound during the run of the film, as requested.

Screenings Support:

  • Manage film or digital production screenings at offsite theatres, including building platters, ingesting DCP’s and running the screenings.

  • As required, attend screenings of principal photography preceded by intense equipment and workflow testing.

  • QC screen film release prints and, when required, digital DCP’s, noting any anomalies or inconsistencies. Compile detailed screening notes and distribute internally and to film lab.

  • Assist with screening IMAX VFX film shots and multiple Answer Prints in house or off site.

  • Attend and assist in the set up and oversight of internal and external special screenings to ensure highest quality presentations, as required. These may include filmmaker, production, Influencer and VIP screenings. Screenings may be in the evening or weekend hours.

Film Dept Support:

  • Support communication with film production teams and outside vendors such as VFX providers, the laboratory, Kodak and various media suppliers to achieve the highest quality on-screen presentations.

  • Assist with the QC of film scans and delivery to outside facilities (DI lab, VFX houses, etc).

  • Maintain project specific documentation of each film’s footage, screenings, and progress through production milestones

  • Review production/post workflows, evaluate and validate screening facilities such as IMAX projection rooms and theatres associated with client’s process to ensure the highest IMAX Quality standards are met.

  • Support production requirements, scheduling timelines, documentation, presentations, reports, testing, and film, media and content reviews.

  • Maintain procedures and best practices for concierge level services, modifying for the unique features of each project and as technologies and industry standards evolve.

  • Support, strongly encourage and adhere to content security best practices with clients, vendors, and other IMAX staff.

CQO:

  • Advise on CQO consumer IMAX theatre Quality concerns and inquiries initiated with CQO email and other sources, collaborating with the Sheridan Park Technical Services team on identification and resolution of issues and trend analysis.

Hiring Range :

$75,599.00 - $108,000.00 (per year) Final pay within this range will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, and the geographic location of the role. Additional non-discretionary compensation may apply where eligible.
