- Perform and initiate annual compliance review plan, taking into consideration of the following: 208 branches nationwideHealth checks for business/functional areas across the bankGap assessments on new and/or revised regulatory requirementsForward-looking, current or emerging risk relating to regulations across all sectorsNew regulations that have been issued and/or updated by the regulators and fully implemented by the Bank within the past yearPast incidences / non-compliances
- Always keep abreast with the latest regulatory updates, trends and best practices.
- Collaborate with management to appropriately evaluate and investigate compliance issues/concerns identified during the review.
- Conduct exit meetings with management to articulate any compliance issues/concerns.
- Work closely with BCOs/BRCOs and the management to develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of compliance issues/concerns.
- Monitor the performance of the annual compliance review plan and ensure appropriate steps are taken to accommodate any ad-hoc activities/requests from the regulators.
- Ensure reporting of non-compliances or potential non-compliances are documented and reported to Board and Management.
- Provide reports on a regular basis, and as directed or requested, to keep the Board and Management informed of compliance issues/concerns.
- Responsible for management of team members within the team, facilitating workflow and capacity management at team-level. Coach those within their team and help them to develop their careers. Resolve escalated issues raised by the team members.
Skills Required
- Knowledge of banking compliance requirements, regulatory updates, and emerging regulatory risks
- Experience conducting compliance reviews, health checks, gap assessments, or investigations
- Ability to evaluate compliance issues and develop corrective action plans
- Ability to prepare compliance reports for senior management and the Board
- Team management, coaching, workflow management, and capacity planning experience
