AAA Club Alliance is hiring for a Senior Specialist, Accounting Transactions to join our team! This role ensures accuracy, integrity in the recording, reconciliation, and reporting of financial and insurance-related transactions. The Senior Specialist provides accounting support, manages insurance premium and commission operations, and safeguards revenue through effective controls, reconciliations, and reporting. This position supports month-end and year-end close processes, interacts with internal departments and external carriers, and assists leadership through process improvement, reporting, and operational oversight.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Record, reconcile, and report financial information in accordance with company policies, and established procedures.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly accounting reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reconcile insurance carrier receivables, bank accounts, and premium sweep accounts within prescribed deadlines.
  • Prepare, upload, validate, and balance insurance commission and premium transactions within agency management and financial systems.
  • Administer and ensure accurate and timely variable compensation and commission payments to sales associates, sub-producers, and partners.
  • Maintain detailed accounting records for revenues, receivables, payables, premiums, and commission deposits.
  • Investigate, research, and resolve unusual transactions, discrepancies, chargebacks, and exceptions.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external insurance carriers to resolve accounting and operational issues.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, including general ledger reconciliations and audit support.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial, compensation, and insurance operations reports for management and auditors.
  • Document accounting treatment and operational procedures for new or changing processes.
  • Recommend process, system, and control improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and risk mitigation.
  • Train and cross-train team members on accounting, reconciliation, and insurance administration procedures.
  • Provide backup support to supervisors and peers and assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent  combination of education and/or experience in accounting, finance, or insurance operations.
  • 3 years of experience in corporate accounting, financial operations, or insurance agency administration.
  • Experience working with insurance premiums, commissions, or carrier transactions preferred.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial, accounting, or agency management systems.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with internal teams, management, and external partners.
