Summary:

In this role, you will be a strategic sourcing resource, dedicated to delivering best in class contracting strategies and expertise that result in supply chain cost reductions.  You will accomplish this by contributing to all aspects of supply chain strategic sourcing processes including opportunity identification, strategy building, contract development, negotiations, documentation, and implementation. You develop a customer-specific contract strategy to reduce spending, improve operational efficiencies, maximize delivered value and ultimately achieve a higher level of member satisfaction by becoming a trusted advisor.     

 Responsibilities:
  • Strong oral and written negotiation and contracting skills.  Thorough understanding of contracts, including the ability to comprehend and draft language involving complex contract terms and conditions. Able to identify contractual risks and propose alternate language toward a solution.
  • Develop customized contract strategy recommendations for more complex contracting needs.
  • Work independently with internal and external stakeholders to develop contracts for specific client requirements including more complex contracting needs.
  • Work independently with legal team to negotiate terms and conditions of complex contracts. Partner with legal resources to explain difficult concepts or unique situations that require potential deviation from standard contract.
  • Ensure contract compliance with terms and conditions necessary to achieve cost savings.
  • Design and deliver communication strategies to message recommendations, successes, opportunities and challenges, including for more complex contracting needs to leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders; supports relationship development with senior leaders.
  • Maintain strong business relationships with manufacturers across all product lines.
  • Work independently with minimum supervision and juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Maintain timely achievement of all assigned sourcing initiatives ensuring activities adhere to all established policies and procedures and standards of business conduct.
Qualifications:
  • Relevant degree preferred in Supply Chain, Health care, Business, Finance, Legal,or IT; Advanced degree desired.
  • 5 or more years' experience working in a contracting, contract management or supply chain related role required.
  • Strong healthcare contracting background is preferred with a focus on successful contract negotiations.
  • Ability to effectively present and help others to present complex information in a summary fashion utilizing Microsoft tool required.
  • Must possess strong relationship building, customer service and strategic partnering skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and productively in a fast paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
