Role Overview:
The Solutions Engineer at F5 is responsible for driving new business and revenue growth by helping customers identify the products, solutions, and services that best meet their needs. This role involves setting sales strategies and policies, managing the execution of plans, and providing technical expertise throughout the sales process.
In this position, the Solutions Engineer supports the development and implementation of complex products, applications, and solutions to address challenging customer problems. Leveraging deep product knowledge, they provide technical guidance to both sales teams and customers through proof-of-concepts (POCs), solution design, and architecture services. They collaborate with sales staff to assess potential applications of F5 products and may prepare detailed product specifications for implementation.
Additionally, the role may include creating detailed design and implementation plans after thoroughly understanding the customer’s application journey. This can involve building pilot applications, rapid prototyping, or product demonstrations to validate feasibility. Solutions Engineers may also consult prospective users and assess or validate product capabilities to ensure the solution meets customer requirements.

What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement technical strategies that support the overall sales objectives of the organization.
- Act as a thought leader in the industry, representing the company at conferences, webinars, and industry events.
- Lead the design of highly complex, integrated solutions that address the unique challenges of strategic clients.
- Mentor other solutions engineers, providing guidance on complex technical and strategic issues.
- Engage with strategic clients at the executive level to understand their long-term goals and align solutions accordingly.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related areas, or equivalent level of experience.
- 8+ years’ pre-sales experience in the IT industry, expertise in networking, application delivery, security, cloud and SaaS etc. technologies.
- Considered an internal subject matter expert within the function.
- Consistently acts as a resource for other functions such as sales engineering, sales management, and inside sales.
- Requires conceptual thinking to understand advanced issues and implications.
- Ability to select and improve processes to sell across F5’s product portfolio.
- Expert level understanding of Web Protocols and application architectures (HTTP/TLS/SSL), programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Golang, etc.), and Kubernetes concepts and architectures.
- Advanced knowledge of Data Center, Virtualization, Cloud computing environments, Solution Performance, and Sizing.
- Expert in Solution designs for large-scale environments and Vertical Market solutions.
