Senior Solutions Engineer – APAC

Location: Malaysia
Region: APAC

About the Role

Onfido, an Entrust company, is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer to support customers across the APAC region in solving complex digital identity and fraud challenges.

In this highly customer-facing role, you will partner closely with Sales to understand client needs, design seamless identity verification experiences, and guide prospects through trials, proof of concepts, and technical validations.

You will represent the Entrust Identity platform across a variety of industries, including fintech, financial services, payments, and eCommerce. Engaging with stakeholders ranging from C-level executives to developers, you will help organisations deliver secure, compliant, and frictionless user journeys across diverse regulatory environments in APAC.

This role combines technical expertise, solution design, and strong communication, with collaboration across regional and global teams including Product, Customer Success, and Onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Sales to diagnose customer challenges across KYC, fraud prevention, account opening, and authentication workflows, proposing tailored solutions

  • Design and guide user experiences leveraging Entrust Identity solutions, supporting API/SDK integrations across web and mobile applications

  • Lead technical aspects of trials and POCs, including defining success criteria and validation strategies

  • Support RFP/RFI processes with technical expertise and industry knowledge

  • Build demos, tailored solution presentations, and example integrations for customer use cases

  • Collaborate with Product teams to share customer insights and influence product direction

  • Drive adoption of new features and capabilities across the region

  • Contribute to global best practices within the Solutions Engineering function

  • Represent Entrust at industry events, conferences, and webinars

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience in Presales, Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Product Management with strong customer engagement

  • Proven ability to lead value-based conversations using structured sales methodologies

  • Hands-on experience with at least one programming language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Java, Ruby, Swift)

  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and modern integration patterns

  • Ability to guide developers through API/SDK integrations

  • Strong ownership mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach

  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Customer Success teams

  • Background in SaaS or cloud-based environments

  • Fluent in English and Malay

Desirable

  • Familiarity with identity verification, CIAM, IAM, or fraud prevention technologies

  • Experience in fintech, financial services, payments, or cybersecurity industries

  • Knowledge of security principles and regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR, eIDAS 2.0, AML/KYC)

  • Experience working across multiple countries and diverse markets

Location & Travel

This role is based in Malaysia, supporting customers across the APAC region. Occasional travel will be required for client meetings, workshops, and industry events.
