Full-Time Position | Portland, Oregon
About Us

Backed by top investors and growing rapidly, we're a Portland-based team building computer vision and robotics technology that keeps America's most critical production lines running. If you want to do meaningful work at the intersection of AI and advanced manufacturing, we'd love to meet you.
Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Engineer to lead the west coast ramp of our vision-based AI systems in live manufacturing environments. This is a full-time, customer-facing role focused on post-sale delivery — owning the technical success of our customers. You'll work directly with our engineering and customer success teams, and the role carries extensive travel to customer facilities across the U.S., with a home base at our Lake Oswego headquarters.
What You'll Do
- Lead on-site training and solutions identification for Rapta vision robotic inspection cells.
- Integrate with customer hardware, PLCs, machine controls, and MES/ERP systems.
- Configure, tune, and validate AI inspection models against real customer parts and processes for accuracy and cycle-time in production
- Serve as the technical point of contact through deployment, coordinating with engineering, and driving to production acceptance.
- Train our customer operators, quality engineers, and plant staff so they can run and trust the system after handoff
- Feed field learnings back to product and engineering, and build repeatable deployment runbooks and acceptance documentation
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of professional experience in field applications, systems, or deployment engineering, with substantial hands-on time in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Deep, practical machine vision experience — lighting, optics, camera selection, calibration, and image acquisition on a live production line
- Strong troubleshooting instincts and the composure to solve problems on a customer's floor under production pressure
- Excellence in technical communication — able to work credibly with plant operators, quality engineers, and program leadership alike
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (50%) to customer sites west of the Rockies.
- Must be a U.S. citizen
Required Technical Skills
- Hands-on expertise deploying and integrating industrial vision or automation systems in a production environment
- Proficiency integrating with industrial control systems — PLCs, machine controls, MES/ERP, and factory networks
- Fluency operating in Linux environments — comfortable in the shell, reading logs, and reasoning about process, network, and filesystem behavior
- Solid grasp of networking fundamentals for on-premises and air-gapped deployments
- Scripting or configuration skills (Python or equivalent) for system setup, integration, and troubleshooting
- Strong grasp of calibration, metrology, or dimensional inspection concepts
Location Requirements
Candidates local to the Portland, Oregon metro area will only be considered for this role.
