The RoleIn this role, the Solutions Developer will design, configure, and maintain deployment-ready Operational Technology (OT) software product solutions; working cross-functionally to fully understand software capabilities, and define deployment standards for product solutions. This role ensures product functionality that provides reliable performance and world-class customer satisfaction to external and internal customers. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with Software Development, Product Management, Solution Consulting, and Professional Services teams and implement highly available, scalable solutions for real-time software applications.

Your Impact

  • Design, plan, and integrate state-of-the-art power systems applications for real-time control systems on a variety of system architectures. 
  • Understand AspenTech’s OSI monarchTM product capability and functionality. 
  • Translate use cases into product design and configuration standards that can scale to various system architectures. 
  • Maintain template system design, configuration, and deployment standards. 
  • Work with Software Development teams in R&D, Product Management, and Professional Services Delivery teams located across the globe. 
  • Analyze application functionality from a system perspective to recommend product improvements.  
  • Assist in the development of deployment automation for product solutions.  
  • Collaborate with product security teams to improve application and solution security.  
  • Support sales and Solution Consulting teams in proposal compliance responses and demonstrations. 
  • Stay up to date with the latest product functionality and industry requirements. 
  • Assist in creating training materials and product documentation to facilitate out-of-the-box configuration. 
  • Evaluate AspenTech’s OSI monarchTM product suite interoperability with industry-standard optimization products that span engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain operations. 
  • Provide a customer-focused approach and customer care philosophy that emphasizes customer satisfaction.  

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field. 
  • Knowledge of computer programming; introduction to C programming at minimum.  
  • Basic knowledge of computer architectures, networking, databases, and operating systems. 
  • Systems engineering experience performing requirements analysis and translating requirements to a viable solution within applicable constraints. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving acumen. 
  • Effective organizational, time management and task management skills. 
  • Effective communication and customer service skills, both face-to-face and over the phone. 
  • Ability to provide solutions for issues that may not be documented and an ability to think outside the box and creatively solve problems. 
  • Ability to adhere to corporate and customer security policies for physical, data, and information security.  
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%. 
  • Experience with AspenTech’s OSI monarchTM control systems preferred.
  • Experience in Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Cassandra) preferred.
  • Experience with JSON, XML preferred.
  • Experience with common utility protocols (ICCP, DNP, MultiSpeak) preferred.
