Your Opportunity

Solutions Architects are the trusted advisors to New Relic’s current and prospective customers. As part of the Strategic Solutions Architect (SA) Organization, you will support the observability transformation initiatives of New Relic’s clients.

Solutions Architects work collaboratively with New Relic customers across all segments, as well as with Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing organizations. You will collaborate on strategic engagements that require a high degree of strategic planning, consulting, hands-on technical expertise, and internal cross-departmental collaboration within New Relic.

Solutions Architects help shape and execute a strategy to build awareness and drive broad usage of the New Relic platform with customers, becoming their trusted advisor. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated with a proven track record in software/technology sales or consulting. The ability to connect technical solutions with measurable business value is fundamental to a Solutions Architect. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical problems.

You will specialize in leading expansion and observability penetration opportunities by providing thought leadership for solution design, best practice implementation, and technical problem-solving. You will enable the measurement and analysis of the success of New Relic's go-to-market strategy in both the penetration and expansion phases.

If you are passionate about helping customers solve business problems with observability and ultimately being a trusted advisor, the Solutions Architect position could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What You’ll Do
  • In collaboration with sales and product teams, you will lead technical evaluations through ownership of New Relic POC/POV (Proof of Concept/Proof of Value) and SA workshops.
  • Regularly visit New Relic customer offices to understand and align with their objectives.
  • Create and maintain relationships with key customer contacts that contribute to large Net ACR deals and platform consumption.
  • Accelerate transformation initiatives and observability maturity for New Relic customers and prospects.
  • Engage with customers, both on-site and remotely, in a technical consulting and advisory role during different phases of sales cycles, while providing technical assistance and solution guidance.
  • Understand and document the customer's current and desired state of observability and design solutions to address identified gaps.
  • Map the customer's desired business outcomes to the required observability capabilities.
  • Build the brand, trust, and credibility in the observability space by developing artifacts such as reference architectures, technical blogs, conference presentations, and a field resource repository.
  • Continuously improve your professional skills with a focus on personal mastery and team learning through activities such as training, reading, and seeking mentorship from others.
Your Qualifications

Must-have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
  • 4+ years of professional experience developing in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or Golang.
  • Hands-on experience and functional understanding of OpenTelemetry standards and other OSS such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Experience in observability with New Relic, Splunk, AppDynamics, DataDog, Dynatrace, Grafana Labs, or other observability platforms.
  • Understanding of Service Level measurement approaches (SLI/SLO).
  • Experience with DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering service delivery disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native technologies - Kubernetes, Docker, serverless.
  • Presentation and communication skills at both technical and executive levels.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret business requirements and customer interactions to anticipate and guide their needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the customer organization, from executive to developer/practitioner level.
