We have an exciting opportunity at nbn, as the Senior Solution Architect - Solution Architecture Transit & Software Systems reporting to Executive Manager, Solution Architecture Transit & Software Systems.

A bit about your role

The Senior Solution Architect – Solution Architecture Transit & Software Systems is responsible for technology planning, roadmaps, solution architecture, life cycle management, engineering consulting, vendor engagement, and product ownership for the National Connectivity Network (NCN) and Aggregation network initiatives.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining network solution architecture, supporting strategy development, providing SME support, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring optimal architecture for Transit Routing & Switching core networks. The role also involves capacity planning, technology evaluation, and handling day-to-day escalations for the Aggregation network.

A bit about you

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Routing & Switching networks, particularly with IP/MPLS-based Layer3 VPN, Metro Ethernet, and national IP networks. They should possess deep technical expertise in designing and building IP and Ethernet capabilities for Telco networks, including management infrastructure and Ethernet-based products for both consumer and business markets.

Experience in solution integration with various access technologies, wholesale network architectures, and operational considerations for Ethernet and IP networks is essential. The candidate should also have a strong background in liaising with vendors, solution development lifecycles, security policies, and technical leadership in Telco or Service Provider environments. Practical skills in IP, MPLS, Traffic Engineering and related technologies, as well as experience with Cisco IOS-XR devices, are required.
