JOB SUMMARY

Mainframe Expert Solutions Architect provides fully hosted solution architecture to meet client and prospective client requests from Infrastructure perspective. They leverage knowledge of IBM mainframe technology to help document, shape, and direct the technology roadmap for our clients. Suggest new technologies or new approaches to achieve business goals. Develop methodologies to integrate technology innovation with existing governance and enterprise architecture processes. Communicate progress and direction through formal presentations, collaborative meetings, and content publishing to mixed audiences

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consistently provides proven, formal mentorship with different solution complexity level
• High complexity assignments - owner
• Moderate complexity assignments - owner (1 or >)
• Low complexity assignments – owner or provide oversight to junior team members
• Regularly lead self and others and/or established as Product SME and/or established as specialist
• Understand how the whole picture aligns to the overall Ensono strategy
• Responsible for working with the client to obtain the solution requirements for the mainframe infrastructure
• Responsible for written design of the mainframe infrastructure solution that meets or exceeds the requirements
• Responsible for being the technical subject matter expert for the proposed implementation and ensuring the proposed solution meets the Ensono capabilities.
• Responsible for presenting cost estimates for the mainframe solution implementation process and ongoing production support of the solution
• Engages in project communications with the client using a consultative approach, anticipates obstacles, and recommends solution options to mitigate.
• Ensures mainframe solution design fulfills functional and technical requirements and can consistently meet progress against service level agreements (SLAs.)
• Accountable for the accuracy, process, integrity, quality and stewardship of client mainframe infrastructure solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Requires a minimum of 8 years of related mainframe experience
• Candidate must understand
• Mainframe Presales
• Mainframe hardware/peripherals and lifecycle stages
• Mainframe software product licenses
• Roles and responsibility for different resources to manage the mainframe environment.
• Mainframe migration across the data centers etc.
• Ability to occasionally work off hours in their time zone to overlap with US time zones to work with team and speak with clients/prospects (for at least mornings US Central time zone)
• Able to travel to US for meetings or training as required (infrequently)
• Significant experience working with US onshore teammates
• Extensive previous background with IBM mainframes, including previous experience as a systems programmer supporting complex mainframe environments.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
• Systems Programming background
• Previous experience in infrastructure architecture and solution design
