Be part of building the future of test automation
Do you want to take a leading role in shaping how embedded systems are tested – not just what is tested?
At Munters, we develop sustainable and energy‑efficient climate solutions for industrial environments. Our embedded control systems are a critical part of this mission – and now we are looking for a Senior Software Tester for Embedded Systems who wants to be a key driver in our test automation journey.
This is not a “maintain what already exists”-role. You will join us in an early and formative phase of test automation, where our clear ambition is to automate everything that can be automated – from hardware‑near system tests to integration and regression testing.
You will have the opportunity to shape strategy, tools, frameworks and ways of working, and to use your experience to raise both quality and efficiency across the organization. If you enjoy taking ownership, challenging old truths, and driving change – this role is for you.
As a Senior Software Tester, you will act as a technical leader within test and quality for embedded systems, working closely with software, hardware and product teams.
You will:
Take overall ownership of test strategy, test design and test automation for embedded control systems
Be a driving force in the transition towards high test automation coverage, choosing and implementing frameworks, tools and best practices
Design and execute advanced system tests, both manual and automated, including hardware‑near testing
Build and evolve test environments, simulators, stubs and tooling
Advocate for testability early in the development lifecycle, influencing architecture and requirements
Analyze complex system failures and lead root‑cause investigations
Coach and mentor other testers and developers in testing and automation practices
Collaborate closely with developers, product management and quality functions to embed quality throughout the lifecycle
Communicate risks, insights and improvement proposals clearly to stakeholders
You won’t wait to be told what to improve – you will see opportunities, take initiative, and push the organization forward.
Our ambition within test automation
We are at the beginning of a focused journey where:
Test automation is a first‑class citizen, not an afterthought
We aim for maximum automation coverage where it creates value
Test is integrated into CI/CD and daily development workflows
We continuously explore new technologies, including AI‑assisted testing, to improve speed, coverage and insight
You will have a real mandate to influence this journey.
You are an experienced tester within embedded systems, but just as importantly, you are a change driver.
You likely have:
Several years of experience in system testing of embedded systems
Several years of experience in test automation, e.g. Python, Robot Framework or similar
Strong understanding of microcontrollers, embedded Linux and communication protocols
Experience with HIL testing and troubleshooting
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control
Experience working in agile/SCRUM environments
It’s a plus if you have experience within industrial or climate control systems, C/C++, IoT/cloud technologies, or electrical systems – but mindset and drive are just as important as the exact background.
Proactive and courageous – you are not afraid to challenge existing solutions
Driven by improvement – quality, efficiency and technical excellence motivate you
Strategic yet hands‑on – you can define direction and still build things yourself
Collaborative and communicative – you enjoy working across disciplines
Curious and open‑minded, with an interest in new tools, methods and AI‑based solutions that create real value.
A real opportunity to influence architecture, tooling and quality direction
A role with both technical leadership and hands‑on work
Products that contribute to a more sustainable world
A collaborative and knowledgeable engineering culture
A transformation journey where your experience truly matters
Skills Required
- Minimum 7 years of experience in system testing within embedded systems
- Deep knowledge of RTOS, microcontrollers, embedded Linux, and communication protocols
- Experience in test automation using tools such as Python, Robot Framework, or similar
- Experience with CI/CD and version control (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps)
- Strong understanding and experience working according to SCRUM
