Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for UI, API, and back-end systems using frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, WebDriver IO, and languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, and Python.
  • Interpret and report testing results, advocating for quality at every development phase.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs through resolution.
  • Ensure UI design adherence by reviewing product interfaces.
  • Perform manual testing where automation is not feasible.
  • Serve as the technical expert for testing strategies, guiding engineers on resolving issues within test suites and advising on best practices.
  • Lead quality improvement efforts by defining test strategies and implementing robust automated test suites.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to derive testing requirements, creating test plans, cases, and reports.
  • Work closely with product management to gather business requirements and align them with test strategies to ensure high-quality features.
  • Champion quality metrics and lead efforts to improve the quality of deliverables across engineering teams.
  • Understand the technical architecture and performance impacts, ensuring high-quality product/feature releases.
  • Promote a quality-driven engineering culture that supports rapid and confident product releases.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in creating and maintaining automated test cases and executing test suites using TypeScript, JavaScript, Cypress, Playwright, or WebDriver IO.
  • 5+ years of experience integrating testing with CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native applications.
  • Expertise in testing UI, APIs, and back-end data processing services.
  • Experience with relational SQL databases, such as Postgres or MySQL.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive in identifying and implementing improvements to testing processes.
  • Must be located in the Greater Seattle area or willing to relocate.

Additional Details

  • This position is based out of our office in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle, WA (hybrid work schedule). 
  • The estimated compensation for this position is $150,000 - $170,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus and an equity grant.
