Wilder Systems builds robots that do precision work across aerospace manufacturing and MRO — drilling, fastening, sanding, and inspection — on systems deployed to factory floors and flight lines worldwide. As a Senior Software Test Engineer, you own the test strategy and automation for a system: how we prove it works before it ships and keep it working in the field. You define test requirements across components, build the automation that catches regressions, drive software-hardware failures to root cause, and mentor the test engineers around you — working across the robotics software and hardware teams on real hardware.
What You'll Do- Test strategy & requirements — own the test strategy and requirements for a system, across its components.
- Test automation — design and build the automated test framework and suites that catch regressions before they reach the field.
- Manual & hardware testing — define and run the manual and on-hardware tests automation can't cover, and troubleshoot software-hardware failures to root cause with the software and hardware teams.
- Release notes — own the user-facing change documentation (release notes) for each release, in collaboration with the robotics software and hardware teams.
- Technical leadership — set the quality bar, own test requirements across components, and mentor Test Engineer I and II through test design and review.
- A track record owning test strategy and automation for a system or product end-to-end.
- Strong test automation in Python and/or C++ (or comparable).
- Deep experience with both automated and manual testing of complex systems.
- Hands-on debugging of software-hardware integration issues on real hardware.
- Solid software fundamentals: version control, CI, scripting, and reading production code.
- A track record setting test requirements and mentoring other test engineers.
- Testing robotics, industrial automation, or other cyber-physical systems.
- ROS 2 and robotics middleware.
- Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test development.
- Test frameworks and CI at scale (pytest, GoogleTest, Jenkins or GitHub Actions).
- Authoring release notes or customer-facing change documentation.
- Familiarity with the domains under test — perception, motion, calibration.

What We Do
Wilder Systems is an industrial services company that delivers Robots as a Service for aircraft manufacturing and maintenance. We are focused on dual-use aerospace applications for both commercial and military which includes robotic drilling into aircraft, defastening, sealing, non-destructive inspections, and even a robotic aircraft wash system. Our mission is to lead the way towards a 'lights-out' future where the majority of aerospace manufacturing tasks are performed by modular, autonomous robots.
