Job Role: Senior Test Engineer (SDET)

The Software Senior Test Engineer is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test automation code and test cases for new and existing features of Allegion products. Senior Test Engineer is responsible for updating and maintaining the existing automation framework, perform continuous evaluation of test cases for inclusion in regression suite and test automation suite. He/She will work closely with software developers, firmware engineers, product owner and system test engineers in scrum teams to deliver the highest quality products in a timely and efficient manner.

Job Description:

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

• Hands on programming skills in Python & PyTest framework. 
• Very good knowledge on Rest API testing skills
• Hands on experience in test automation using Python for API and Web testing.
• Good knowledge of MSSQL database and have expertise in writing DB queries.
• Test Complete knowledge will be a plus.
• Specific duties and responsibilities include creating, maintaining, and executing test plans and test cases against our hardware and software platforms, estimating test efforts, analyzing and communicating test results, defect tracking and participating in day to day QA Activities. 
• Responsible for manual testing and automation of UI windows native apps and REST API.   

• You will also add to our company's performance and scalability testing efforts including writing of specialized testing tools for use in testing our mobile apps, web apps, and web services
• Should have Excellent communication, written skills and Analytical skills.
• Very Good knowledge on Windows operating system
• Well-versed in native Windows applications and cloud apps testing skills.
• Good hands on experience in backend and front-end testing.
• Have expert knowledge in testing concepts, test process, test design skills and testing techniques.
• Knowledge of Git, Jira, Confluence is a Plus
• Have exposure to Azure DevOps tool or other test management tool for maintaining test cases, updating the test results and sending the test updates to leads/Manager on timely basis.
• Basic networking knowledge is a must
• Good knowledge on Azure cloud, DevOps knowledge is a must
• Has experience in functional and nonfunctional testing
• Active member of a highly skilled and motivated testing team
• Work closely with product teams and product management to understand requirements and translate them in to test cases which capture all possible test conditions.
•  Engage in cross team collaboration to enhance the test efficiency across the groups.
• Interfacing with overseas counterparts frequently to resolve issues.
• Peer reviews for code and design to reduce testability issues
• Onsite experience in testing at customer or partner sites would be beneficial
• Must demonstrate flexibility in work hours to meet important customer deliverables and project deadlines as required
• Worked in Agile environment

Desired Skills & Abilities:

• Experience in hardware, firmware and software integration testing
• Has exposure in performing security and performance testing
• Exposure to containerization and Kubernetes
• Good system level debugging skills are an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects to meet schedules in a dynamic and fast paced environment 
• Willing to travel across geographical boundaries based on the business need.

Required Education and Experience: 

• Engineering bachelors or master’s degree
•  5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
