This role sits within Hospital Patient Monitoring (HPM), which provides advanced monitoring solutions for acute care settings. From bedside and transport monitors to centralized systems, HPM helps clinicians identify at-risk patients and intervene quickly. The position is based in Bangalore, a key hub supporting innovation and collaboration across Philips.
We are looking for a Senior Software Technologist – AI to join our Hospital Patient Monitoring (HPM) business. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, building, and scaling intelligent software solutions that power next‑generation patient monitoring systems.
You will work at the intersection of cloud‑native software engineering, AI/GenAI, and secure medical technology, collaborating with global teams to deliver robust, scalable, and responsible AI‑enabled solutions that directly impact patient care.
This is a hands‑on technical role requiring strong coding, design thinking, and an end‑to‑end ownership mindset.
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, cloud‑native software solutions with strong emphasis on quality, performance, and security
Contribute hands‑on across the full software lifecycle – architecture, coding, reviews, testing, deployment, and monitoring
Build and evolve AI‑enabled capabilities, including applications leveraging Generative AI, LLMs, and prompt engineering
Develop and expose robust APIs and backend services supporting distributed and microservices‑based architectures
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, enabling high levels of automation, reliability, and faster release cycles
Collaborate effectively with global, cross‑functional teams (engineering, architecture, product, quality, and security)
Rapidly prototype and validate ideas, balancing speed with engineering excellence
Ensure adherence to security, privacy, and Responsible AI principles, especially within regulated healthcare environments
Take an end‑to‑end, systems‑level view of problem solving, balancing technical depth with business and user impact
Continuously learn and apply emerging technologies, tools, and programming paradigms
8+ years of strong software development experience with a hands‑on coding and design background
Proficiency in Python and experience with .NET based systems
Strong experience with Cloud‑native development on AWS
Solid understanding and hands‑on experience with Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), and container orchestration
Experience building high‑performance, scalable APIs and backend services
Exposure to UI frameworks such as React and TypeScript
Experience with load balancing, distributed systems, and microservices architectures
Working knowledge of Generative AI concepts, including LLMs and prompt engineering
Good understanding of AI security, privacy, and Responsible AI practices
Passion for automation, including building and enhancing CI/CD pipelines
Ability to explore, experiment, and rapidly prototype new ideas and technologies
Strong problem‑solving skills with an end‑to‑end, holistic approach
Curious, continuous learner with the ability and interest to pick up new languages and evolving technologies
Proactive contributor who builds on ideas and challenges the status quo constructively
Comfortable working across geographies and time zones, with strong collaboration skills.
Goal‑oriented, self‑driven, and passionate about delivering high‑impact solutions
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical field
PhD in a relevant discipline (AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related areas) is highly desirable and will be considered a strong advantage
