About the role:

At Emtrain, we’re on a mission to make healthy, respectful workplaces the norm. Over the past 10 years we’ve worked with culture-forward companies like Netflix, Chevron, Toshiba, Yelp, and The New York Times. Building from our base, we’re now launching a next-generation technology solution for companies who realize that culture is their growth engine, and the heart of their value proposition and brand. We are woman-founded and women-led, with offices in San Francisco and Sacramento. As our company grows, so does our need to add sharp, ambitious, and talented people to our team.

Role Overview

As the Senior Software QA Manager, you will be the ultimate gatekeeper of product excellence. You will move beyond manual oversight to build a sophisticated, AI-augmented testing ecosystem. This role is unique: you will own the Release Management lifecycle and the Deployment pipeline, ensuring that our testing processes are as robust as the code they carry.

Key Responsibilities1. AI-Driven Testing & Advanced Automation
  • Intelligent Automation: Architect and maintain scalable automation frameworks integrated with AI/ML testing tools to enable self-healing scripts and automated visual regression.
  • Predictive Analysis: Leverage AI to identify "hot spots" in the codebase, prioritizing test cases based on historical failure data and code churn.
  • Synthetic Data Generation: Implement AI tools to generate complex, compliant test datasets.
2. Release Management & Deployment Oversight
  • Pipeline Governance: Own the "Go/No-Go" decision-making process for production releases.
  • Pipeline Integration: Partner with Dev to bake quality into the deployment pipeline, utilizing preferred testing strategies.
  • Rollback Strategy: Define and manage automated rollback triggers to maintain high availability during failed deployments.
3. Strategic Leadership & Standard QA
  • Team Mentorship: Upskill a team of QA Engineers
  • KPI Ownership: Track and report on standard KPIs
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the bridge between Product, Engineering, and Operations to ensure requirements are testable from the design phase.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 8+ years in Software Quality Assurance
  • Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in languages for writing advanced automation scripts.
  • Modern Toolset: Hands-on experience with AI testing platforms
  • Cloud & Containers: Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure
  • Process Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of Agile/Scrum and the SDLC.

Base salary range: 130k - 140k

In addition to our competitive salaries, we provide the following benefits:

  • Unlimited PTO
  • Health Insurance
  • Dental Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • Pet Insurance
  • Tuition Reimbursement
