How You’ll Add Value:
The Senior Software Project Manager is accountable for the end‑to‑end planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex enterprise software initiatives within regulated life‑sciences and clinical environments. This role leads cross‑functional, global teams to deliver informatics solutions (e.g., LIMS/LIS and related platforms) on time, within scope, and within budget, while maintaining compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Operating in a matrix organization, the Senior Software Project Manager serves as the primary owner of delivery governance—managing scope, schedule, budget, risk, and stakeholder communication—while partnering closely with Product Management, Engineering, Quality, and Commercial teams to ensure successful outcomes for both internal and customer‑facing programs.
What You’ll Do:
Project Planning & Execution:
Own the full project lifecycle from initiation through delivery and closure, ensuring alignment with contractual, operational, and strategic objectives
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans covering scope, timelines, milestones, resources, dependencies, and budgets
Lead cross‑functional project teams to execute against approved plans, adjusting proactively to changing priorities and constraints
Delivery Governance & Control:
Monitor and control project performance against schedule, budget, and scope, taking corrective action as needed to maintain delivery commitments
Manage RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs and proactively identify mitigation strategies to reduce delivery risk
Manage change control processes, including scope changes, impact analysis, and approved change orders where applicable
Stakeholder & Customer Management:
Serve as the primary point of accountability for project communication with internal stakeholders, customers, and senior leadership
Provide clear, consistent project status reporting, including milestone progress, financial performance, risks, and escalation items
Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, ensuring alignment on expectations and delivery outcomes
Cross‑Functional Leadership:
Coordinate activities across Engineering, Product Management, Quality, Professional Services, and Commercial teams to ensure integrated delivery
Partner with Product Owners and Business Analysts to align delivery plans with product roadmaps and release strategies
Support commercial activities as needed, including project estimation, proposal development, statements of work, and delivery planning
Quality, Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure projects are executed in compliance with corporate Quality Management Systems, SOPs, and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., GxP, FDA‑regulated environments)
Oversee the creation, review, and approval of required project lifecycle documentation, including requirements, specifications, testing, validation, and training materials
Support audit readiness and customer inspections related to project delivery activities
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent industry experience
5+ years of experience in software project management or equivalent experience delivering/managing complex enterprise or customer‑facing systems
Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, resources, and contractual commitments for multi‑disciplinary software projects.
Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and escalation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience delivering and/or managing LIMS, LIS, or laboratory informatics solutions
Experience working in regulated life‑sciences, clinical diagnostics, or pharmaceutical environments
PMP or equivalent project management certification.
Familiarity with project and delivery tools (e.g., MS Project, Azure DevOps, Aha, digital whiteboards)
Key Competencies:
- Strong delivery ownership and accountability mindset
Ability to lead through influence in matrixed, global organizations
Excellent planning, prioritization, and risk management skills
Customer‑focused with strong commercial awareness
Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, complex, and regulated environments
