WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US

The Senior Software Engineer at SimCorp, at the IC4 grade, is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions while ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements. With typically 4-6 years of experience, this role involves taking ownership of key components of software projects, working with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, and mentoring junior engineers. The Senior Software Engineer plays a key role in solving complex technical challenges, optimizing software performance, and ensuring that solutions are scalable and maintainable. This position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications, ensuring that they meet high-quality standards and business requirements
  • Take ownership of key components or modules, driving their development from design through to deployment
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to define technical requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical support and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of software systems
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring that best practices, coding standards, and quality guidelines are followed
  • Continuously assess and improve development processes, tools, and techniques to enhance team productivity and software quality
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, applying new knowledge to improve software solutions and practices

Your qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. 

  • 4 - 6 years of experience in software engineering with combined Dev   QA responsibilities. 

  • Expertise in .NET / C# and working knowledge of Angular

  • Known for impactful leadership, resulting in improved efficiency and project success among engineering teams

  • Extensive background in test automation (E2E, API, Integration) and test strategy

  • Solid experience in architecting and developing enterprise-scale applications. 

  • Extensive knowledge of Cloud and On-Prem infrastructures (Microsoft Azure experience)

  • Deep expertise in CI/CD pipelines and tools (Git, TeamCity, Azure DevOps). 

  • Thorough understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and Domain-Driven Design

  • Familiarity with XP practices (TDD, pair programming, continuous integration). 

  • Experience with relational databases (SQL). 

  • Readiness to learn APL

  • Proficient English communication skills (Upper-Intermediate or higher), both written and spoken

  • Ability to mentor, motivate, and guide a team toward technical excellence and efficient delivery
