HYPR is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who thrives on challenges and is eager to contribute wherever the team needs them. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain key product components while collaborating with peers and contributing as an individual contributor.
You'll work on HYPR's industry-leading security products, deployed at several Fortune 500 companies, including:Identity verification solutions
Open standards implementations of passwordless authentication to help customers build secure environments
W3C-compliant authentication servers
Next-generation application management and analytics

- Design, develop and deploy SaaS services end-to-end—from understanding requirements and designing solutions to deployment, production support, scalability and performanc
Be on the fore front of AI-native SDLC by using agents throughout design, coding, testing, and documentation
Research new technologies and solutions to improve existing products and explore new directions
Implement comprehensive automated testing at the component level and collaborate with SDET(s)
Participate in standards bodies and shape next-generation standards like W3C, WebAuthn, and OAuth
Work directly with customers - product calls to understand the problems and an on-call rotation of incident escalation
- Self-starter—able to dive into an existing product and learn quickly in a fast, hands-on environmen
Team player—collaboration with team members, operations, and support teams is critical
Detail-oriented—takes pride in writing high-quality, maintainable code and following best practices
Security-minded—interested in the cybersecurity domain; previous exposure or participation is a plus
Autonomous and accountable—takes ownership of work and drives it to completion; actively assists in the production support aspects of your work as needed
Expert-Level
- Java SE 21+ and Spring/Quarkus
- Kubernetes or another container orchestration platform
- Cloud-first development experience—AWS, Azure, or similar
- Datastores, one or more of: MySQL, Oracle, DynamoDB, Redshift, Redis
- CS algorithms, data structures, clean code, and scalability design pattern
- Scalable services—multi-region, graceful degradation, and elastic capacity
One major JS framework—Angular, React, or Vue
Observability techniques and tools—events, metrics, OpenTelemetry
Continuous deployment methodologies—unit, acceptance, and load testing approaches
Kotlin development experience
- Authentication protocol knowledge is highly valued—OAuth, SAML, WebAuthn, PKI, Kerberos, FIDO/FIDO2
- Keycloak, Ping or Okta authentication server
- One Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tool—Terraform, Helm, AWS CloudFormation
- Dynamically typed language—Python, Ruby, or similar
10+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining an enterprise web-based platform that services at least 100K users. Can be SaaS or on-premise
EducationBS/MS in computer science or a related software engineering field.
