A Brief Summary of This Position:

The Senior Software Engineer – AI Solutions role is based in Israel at the Valmont AI Center and reports to the Chief AI & Digital Transformation. This full-time position focuses on designing, building, and deploying AI-driven software solutions that enhance operational efficiency across Valmont Industries. The engineer will work end-to-end on projects, from problem discovery to production deployment, collaborating with internal stakeholders and integrating AI models into practical systems.

The systems built in this role directly impact how Valmont operates globally. You will work on real, high-impact problems, see your solutions adopted at scale, and help shape how AI is applied across a large organization. 

The ideal candidate will be:

• A well-rounded engineer who enjoys both technical depth and business context.

• Comfortable working in ambiguous problem spaces and driving clarity 

• Proactive, ownership-oriented, and impact-driven 

• Able to balance speed, quality, and long-term maintainability 

Essential Functions:

• Own AI-driven software solutions from initial problem discovery through design, development, and deployment.

• Partner with internal business teams to understand workflows, pain points, and automation opportunities.

• Design and build cloud-native systems, including scalable backend services (Python), modern frontends (Angular or React), and secure infrastructure.

• Collaborate with Data Science teams to integrate models, optimization algorithms, and AI agents into production systems.

• Balance rapid experimentation with production-grade engineering practices in an industrial environment.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:
 

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer.

• Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer.

• Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure and cloud-native system design.

• Advanced Python development skills.

• Hands-on experience with component-based UI frameworks (e.g., Angular and/or React).

• Ability to take ownership of projects end-to-end.

• Strong communication skills and experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

• Experience building or deploying AI-enabled or data-intensive systems.

• Experience developing internal enterprise platforms or tools.
