We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Backend Developer (Java) to join our growing team and play a key role.
What this role is:
You will design, develop, and test features to enhance the Genesys Cloud product suite. You will have the opportunity to take part in the architecture, design and maintain AWS microservices, lambdas, and REST APIs, in a very dynamic and agile environment.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with multiple interfaces across the company, including Product Management, QA, Tech Pubs, UX folks and the rest of Engineering to identify work priorities, participate in architectural and design decisions.
Develop new features and improve existing systems
Ensure continuous integration of new code through nightly builds and unit tests.
Add Unit, integration, and manually tests for new features
Mentor junior developers and maintain high code quality through reviews and best practices
Participate in daily team meetings, report on progress using tracking system.
Work in a production-scale AWS cloud environment
Required Skills
5+ years of experience as a backend developer
BS in Computer Science or Software Engineering
Strong hands-on experience with Java
Experience with microservices architecture
Experience working in cloud environments, preferably AWS
Solid understanding of CI/CD, testing practices, and clean code principles
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Passion for mentoring, ownership, and building things from scratch
