Your Team

Prudential’s Distributor Domain team empowers Prudential’s agents and advisors to sell life insurance, annuities and retirement services to customers nationwide. Our enterprise-wide, platform team plays a critical and highly visible role in delivering solutions across multiple lines of business across the company. The Distributor Domain team is made up of diverse, agile-thinking, and highly skilled professionals; we use our combined capabilities to enable the organization with innovation, speed, agility, scalability, and efficiency.  We combine agentic development with an interesting and diverse mix of technologies, including graph databases, to rapidly automate and innovate.  We are technically fearless and have a passion for delivering simple and elegant solutions to complex, ambiguous problems.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day
  • Solve complex, ambiguous problems while delivering an elegant and simple solution.
  • Build and deliver technical solutions via hands-on and agentic coding, acting as a technical subject matter expert and force multiplier for the team.
  • Serve as a guide and mentor on microservices design, development practices, agile delivery, and continuous dev-ops integration.
  • Learn the latest patterns and technologies, applying them to solve problems and deliver value across multiple lines of business at Prudential.
  • Facilitate adoption of client teams into the domain, appropriately balancing platform functionality with the need for customization.
  • Hold a high bar for quality and excellence in the entire SDLC (including design, coding, testing and planning) across your team.

  • Demonstrated success in delivering innovative and high value solutions
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, working with both technical and business stakeholders
  • Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an on-going basis through self-initiative and tackling challenges
  • Mastery in at least one programming language with the ability to mentor colleague engineers
  • Advanced technical experience with several of the following:
  • Microservices architectures and scaling distributed systems
  • Relational and NoSQL database design and development
  • Object-oriented design and development with a familiarity of functional programming and event-driven paradigms
  • Agile development methodologies
  • Preferred qualifications (a plus, not a must):
    • Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent
    • 3+ years of experience as a software engineer
    • Java
    • AWS
    • Spring Framework / Spring Boot
    • MongoDB and/or graph-database experience
    • Agentic patterns (MCP, RAG, LangChain, etc.)
    • Financial/Insurance industry background

What we offer you:Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $107,700.00 to $160,500.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
  • Market competitive base salaries, with a yearly bonus potential at every level.
