About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team at RHB Banking Group. This role is responsible for managing the manufacturing and delivery of IT applications and change requests, both internally and with SBU Engagement Managers/SMEs, to ensure consistent and proper functioning of application systems that meet Business needs. You will contribute towards developing technical solutions within the boundaries of the existing ecosystem while ensuring operational continuity, compliance, and solution quality.
What you will be doing
Manage manufacturing and delivery of IT application change requests and enhancements with internal teams and SBU Engagement Manager/SMEs to ensure system stability and alignment with Business needs.
Develop technical solutions in accordance with existing ecosystem architecture and system boundaries.
Engage with Squad Lead to define and manage delivery scope, timeline, and required resources.
Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, identify improvement opportunities, and develop/implement solutions.
Review requirement analysis and define the scope and coverage for System Integration Testing (SIT).
Identify potential risks and issues throughout the delivery lifecycle and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
Drive efficiency and effectiveness within the solution delivery function by applying high-quality standards and adhering to best practices.
Maintain complete understanding of system usage as part of daily business operations and propose enhancements to optimize system performance and efficiency.
Provide production support and perform root cause analysis to resolve application-related issues.
Deliver post-implementation support to business users within assigned support areas.
Ensure strict compliance with processes, audit requirements, and risk controls in the execution of user stories and delivery activities.
What we’re looking for
- Strong experience in Mainframe application development and support.
- Proficient in COBOL, JCL, and CICS.
- Familiarity with IBM IDz.
- Knowledge of Assembler and Alltel applications is an added advantage.
- Experience with banking products such as multi-currency accounts is a plus.
- Strong experience in application development, maintenance, and change delivery within established enterprise ecosystems.
- Ability to evaluate business requirements and translate them into structured, executable technical solutions.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle, testing frameworks, SIT, and production support processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with hands-on experience in root cause analysis.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills for working with Business, SMEs, Squad Leads, and delivery teams.
- Commitment to quality delivery, process adherence, and continuous improvement.
