We provide affordable, cohort-based online live classes in Math and Science, starting at just USD 6 per month. With a data-driven learning model, we keep students engaged and help them truly understand STEM subjects, rather than just memorizing them.

Our platform is designed for mobile-first access, making it easy for students to learn anytime, anywhere, whether they reside in urban areas or remote regions across Indonesia.

What You’ll Do as a Senior Software Engineer:

With a clear vision for the future, we're building a lean, high-performing engineering team in Jakarta to collaborate closely with our operations and product teams.

• Own Systems: Lead backend services, spot issues, improve performance, and drive solutions
• Build Great Products: Collaborate with Product to create impactful tools for students and teachers
• Be On-Call: Handle incidents quickly through on-call rotations
• Scale Systems: Strengthen systems to handle high traffic smoothly
• Work Across Teams: Partner with other division to deliver projects
  
• Push Code Quality: Drive clean, maintainable code and strong engineering practices
• Deliver Fast: Prioritize, iterate, and ship high-impact solutions quickly.

We’d Love to Hear from You if You Have:

• 3-5+ Years Backend Experience: Proven work on high-traffic systems (1,000+ RPM)
• Backend & Database Skills: Solid backend chops, bonus for Ruby on Rails & PostgreSQL
• Infra or SDET Background: Infra, DevOps, or test automation experience especially with AWS/GCP is a big plus
• Product Mindset: You challenge product ideas thoughtfully and collaborate closely
• Solution-focused: Resourceful and proactive, even with limited tools
• Performance-Driven: You prioritize scalability, speed, and long-term reliability
• Leadership & Mentorship: You work independently and help others grow
• Always Learning: Constantly sharpening your skills and exploring better solutions.

Projects You Might Work On:

At CoLearn, you’ll work on projects that go beyond the basics:

• Scaling Systems: Evolve existing solutions from “working for now” to “working reliably at scale”, designing systems that can grow alongside our users.
• Robust & Reliable Engineering: Spot inefficiencies and optimize systems to become more dependable, cost-effective, and future-proof.
• Optimization at Every Layer: Whether it's backend code, database queries, or infrastructure configurations, you'll continuously refine performance across the board.
